Sustainability Strategy
Dublin Convention Bureau
Dublin CVB commissioned the GDS-Movement to developed a destination sustainability strategy that could be rolled out to the regional convention bureaus. The project has since expanded into a full nation-wide project for Fáilte Ireland.

Step 1 – Survey: A survey to over 150 stakeholders from the Irish tourism and events sector revealed insights to sustainability issues, obstacles for integrating sustainability and the areas of support required from the Tourist Board.

Step 2 – Interviews: One to one interviews with suppliers, clients and government agencies provided data on current sustainability practices and preferred areas of development for the CVB.

Step 3 – Stakeholder Forum: The survey results, and best practice examples were shared with 70 industry delegates, representing hotels, agencies, venues and CVBs.
Dynamic curated activities then gathered insights and ideas for the development of the strategy, and inspired participants.

Step 4 – Strategy Development: A taskforce was formed and various design thinking sessions were facilitated to build on the results of the Forum and Research to define a new vision, goals and priorities for a sustainable destination.
Using this content, the GDS team produced the Dublin Sustainable Destination Strategy.
