GDS-Index Lite evaluates destination sustainability performance across the same four categories as the GDS-Index (Destination Management, Environment, Social, and Supplier) using a smaller set of 30 criteria:

Mandatory core (20 criteria):

  • Strategic management, stakeholder consultation, DEI management, climate action, accessibility, circularity, SDG alignment, etc.

Optional exploration (10 criteria):

  • Visitor management, biodiversity, community engagement, decent work, training suppliers, and more.

These are mapped to the UN SDGs and GSTC Destination Criteria, ensuring alignment with global frameworks.
