Impact Day aims to transform the Business Events sector’s role in societal transformation and regeneration.

Organised by VISITFLANDERS, the GDS-Movement, and #MEET4IMPACT, Impact Day is taking place on 14 October, immediately before the GDS-Forum and the Destination City Alliance (CityDNA) Autumn Conference. Impact Day is a pivotal one-day inaugural conference aimed at redefining the role of the Business Events sector in driving societal and environmental transformation and regeneration.
The day will bring together industry leaders, funding agencies, and association executives to investigate how funding can be secured and managed for scaling impact initiatives. The conference aims to attract interest from external organisations currently funding impact initiatives outside the business events sphere, exploring conditions and models under which impact projects linked to business events could become potential funding targets for impact investors.

In the morning, you will get all the insights and learnings from a 2-year journey whereby VISITFLANDERS Convention Bureau shifted from ‘more’ to ‘better’
Together with moderator, Francis Kadaplackal, we invite you to celebrate VISITFLANDERS methodology and learn more about the importance of generating impact with a congress or event in your destination. Learn from 3 best practices and interact with different international experts.
Get inspired and learn from the members of the European Academy for Childhood Disability (EACD), the European Federation for Food Science and Technology (EFFOST), and the World Breaking Championship who went beyond the economic impact with their congress and event and truly generated impact.
In the afternoon we will deep dive into a new topic: Funding of Impact. The well-known Belgian Captain of Industry, Piet Colruyt, will kick start the conversation and together with our partners #MEET4IMPACT and VISITFLANDERS, there will be several workshops to explore the topic of funding and investing in impact.
You will meet with well-known experts on impact, e.g., Geneviève Leclerc and Beatriz Ibanez from #MEET4IMPACT and Wendy Braeken, Social Impact Coach joined by experts Guy Bigwood from GDS-Movement.
