The 2024 GDS-Movement Impact Day is taking place on 14 October, just before the GDS-Forum and City Destination Alliance (CityDNA) conference. Impact Day is a pivotal one-day inaugural conference aimed at redefining the role of the Business Events sector in driving societal and environmental transformation and regeneration. Organised by VisitFlanders, the GDS-Movement, and #Meet4Impact, the Impact Day will take place in Bruges, Flanders, Belgium, immediately prior to the GDS-Forum and CityDNA Autumn Conference.
Programme
The morning session will introduce a groundbreaking methodology, co-developed by us with VisitFlanders, #Meet4Impact, which positions congresses and events as catalysts for positive societal and environmental change. The afternoon session will shift focus to exploring innovative funding models that support events in implementing more impactful approaches. Key discussions will revolve around how destinations and associations can identify, secure, and manage funding from a variety of sources, including external organisations, to effectively scale their impact initiatives. The conference will be a transformative gathering for industry leaders, funding agencies, and association executives, creating a collaborative environment to discuss and design the future of more impactful events.
