Bordeaux Joins the GDS-Index!

By being the 49th city to join the GDS-Index, Bordeaux will now be recognised for its sustainability efforts on the global level.

We are delighted to announce that the Bordeaux Convention Bureau has decided to join our global destinations sustainability movement. By being the 49th city to join the GDS-Index, Bordeaux will now be recognised for its sustainability efforts on the global level.

The city has already made significant efforts to create a regenerative culture to meet, live, and thrive in. It is described by many as the wine capital of the world and is a hub for meetings for the medical industry, academia and learning, digital economy and aeronautics.

Bordeaux’s Convention Bureau manager Amélie Dechenais comments

“Bordeaux is proud to join the GDS-Index. We strongly believe that it is more essential than ever to expand our actions for sustainable development in the events industry. The Bordeaux Convention Bureau aims to be a powerful driver of this transition, involving our local actors – already very active in this field – and improving the whole experience of our business travellers.”

We hope to offer a clear framework which the team in Bordeaux can use to measure their present performance. After all, how do you know where you are going if you do not know where you are? Once the benchmarking is complete the rewarding and challenging transition to become a sustainable city will take full force. We look forward to being part of this transition, and wish Bordeaux all the best of success.
