[environmental_description] => Toulouse has defined new objectives in its Climate Plan with a mayor objective of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 40% by 2030 compared to 2008.

Under this framework, a new Air-Energy Climate Plan has been officially launched on June 27th, 2019. This plan includes four priority-crosscutting measures:
•	mitigate of the impact of the territory’s activities on climate (reduction of GHG emissions)
•	adaptation of the territory to climate change
•	improving air quality for health
•	energy transition for green growth
[social_description] => We are currently going through a major health, economic and social crisis whose long-term impact cannot yet be estimated. Faced with these unexpected upheavals in our reality, Toulouse Métropole is committed to supporting all the stakeholders in Toulouse through the mplementation of a massive and offensive Employment Recovery Plan.
In order to meet these challenges, and to respond to the strong concerns of citizens about what the recovery of Toulouse should be, this Plan, first of all, responds to the immediate and specific needs of Toulouse's economic fabric. In addition to the economic aspects, this crisis is increasing social inequalities in the territory: The Plan de Relance pour l'Emploi (Employment Recovery Plan) proposes actions geared towards balanced economic, social and environmental development, based on the mobilization of all stakeholders and citizens.
[supplier_description] => Toulouse CVB wishes to map and recognise the many actions of its business tourism partners in terms of sustainable development. The city’s prioritization of sustainability for business tourism is increasingly evident. The recent opening of the new LEED certified MEETT Convention Centre in 2020, demonstrates the commitment of the city’s partners to continually improve their sustainability policies. At the same time, it addresses the needs of local event organizers who are demanding eco-responsible solutions, for clients considering Toulouse as a host city for their Congresses and Conventions.
[dmo_description] => Toulouse has defined new objectives in its Climate Plan. the strategy has been broken down into 6 axes comprising more than 80 practical action sheets concerning energy renovation for housing, preservation of natural areas, eco-mobility, production of local renewable energies, support for economic actors for sustainable supporting initiatives regarding energy transition, etc.

Some emblematic projects can be mentioned here:
•	the development of the public transport offers as well as an extended cycling plan,
•	an air quality program, the foreshadowing of a restricted circulation area,
•	the development of heat and cold networks, photovoltaic plants, biogas production,
•	a territory food project,
•	the deployment of experiments on the circular economy
•	real-time temperature measurements to develop a territory that adapts to climate change and resists…

About the Global Destination Sustainability Movement

The Global Destination Sustainability Movement (GDSM) brings together the sustainability pioneers of the business and leisure tourism world, working with destinations to co-create their tourism and events strategies, benchmark and improve their sustainability performance and transform value chains in order to catalyse regeneration.

Our purpose is to engage, inspire and enable the business events and tourism industry to become more sustainable and regenerative.

Our Methodology

In 2022 the GDS-Index used 70 indicators that evaluate destinations sustainability performance across four key areas. If you are interested, you can read our benchmarking methodology in detail here.
