Born and raised in Denmark and brought up on an organic “økologisk” farm, Elisabeth (“El”) was introduced to tourism through tour guide education for a small Danish travel agent, which kick-started her love for adventure and exploration. Having lived and worked in 7 different countries on 3 continents, El chose to make Scotland her home in 2017.

She holds a 2015 Master’s degree in Global Tourism Development from Aalborg University campus in Copenhagen and has continued pursuing her passion for sustainable travel and tourism.

El is joining GDS-Movement from VisitScotland, where she worked on a variety of projects, including the Destination Net Zero programme, and Quality Assurance programme, its official grading system for tourism businesses and all our associated schemes

Outside of work, El loves spending time walking and running with her dog, hiking the Scottish countryside, baking, cooking, and wrestling with her garden.
