Eleanor (“Ellie”) Ashton-Melia brings over a decade of experience across event production and sustainability strategy to her role as Events Consultant at the Global Destination Sustainability Movement.
She has produced live, hybrid, and virtual programmes across EMEA and North America regions for global brands including Amazon, LinkedIn, and Mastercard, and has advised event businesses at every stage of their sustainability journey, from event design and communications to supply chain best practice.
Before joining GDS-Movement, Ellie served as Community Director at isla, the UK’s largest cross-sector event sustainability network, where she led membership strategy, designed industry-wide education programmes reaching 2,500+ professionals across carbon measurement, circular economy and net-zero, and launched a sustainability best-practice framework for events.
Working across the event supply chain as a consultant, educator, and community builder, Ellie understands the operational realities behind every event and the ecosystem required to deliver them more sustainably.
Ellie is a trained Better Stands assessor with GDS-Movement, holds a Technical Associate Certificate in Carbon Accounting from ISEP, and is completing an MSc in Sustainable Development at the University of Sussex.
