Janie has over 20 years’ tourism experience, championing responsible practices that build resilient businesses, enhance visitor experiences, benefit communities, and protect heritage.

At VisitScotland for 11 years, she drove sustainable tourism, focusing on low-carbon development and leading the Destination Net Zero efforts, including the climate action plan. She also contributed to the Glasgow Declaration for Climate Action in Tourism.

With Green Tourism, Janie assessed and advised over 300 businesses in the UK, New Zealand, and Canada on sustainability certification and assessments.
