To operationalise SAP’s global Sustainable Event Strategy across its flagship Sapphire events—ensuring measurable sustainability performance across three continents, multiple suppliers, and diverse venue environments.
Key Actions:
- Supported delivery of the strategy across three physical locations: Orlando, Barcelona, and São Paulo
- Coordinated with local agencies and suppliers to embed sustainability criteria into planning and procurement
- Conducted waste audits, carbon footprint calculations, and data collection using TRACE
- Engaged catering, venue, and production partners to improve performance across SAP’s three key pillars:
- Net Zero Emissions
- Zero Waste to Landfill
- Zero Inequality
- Developed unified reporting with location-specific KPIs
- Integrated SAP’s own solutions into the event’s sustainability storytelling

- Carbon footprints measured using the TRACE methodology for Orlando, Barcelona, and São Paulo
- Over 90% waste diversion from landfill in Barcelona and São Paulo
- 72% plant-based menus and 81% locally sourced ingredients in Barcelona
- Consistent use of modular booths and recyclable materials across locations
- Sustainability performance benchmarked across all regions for internal comparison and improvement
