Sustainable and impactful business events in EnglandOur Work
Challenge
VisitBritain wanted to engage their destination management organisations and catalyse efforts to improve event sustainability.
The Solution
The GDS-Movement worked with VisitBritain to develop a national sustainability program: This includes
- Benchmarking cities with the GDS-Index
- Delivering capacity development training on sustainability and legacy
- Facilitating storytelling coaching and training
- Enabling peer-to-peer collaboration and innovation
- Conducting program impact analysis and reporting
Results
The project launched in September 2022. Currently 17 major city destinations are enrolled in the GDS-Index, and over 100+ destination, events and tourism professionals have been trained. Project started with events and now includes tourism.
